An ultrasound technique utilizes sounds or vibrations at an ultrasonic frequency to produce diagnostic images without any radiation. This is particularly useful to examine the abdomen in the settings of abdominal pain, suspected gall stones, and kidney stones. Other uses include examination of the prostate, urinary bladder, uterus, and ovaries to elucidate diseases affecting these organs in our body.
